Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We - Clare, Yvonne, Ori and Bridget - have set up this page to raise money for the Hospice, where Margaret not only worked for years as the Chaplain, but where she was so lovingly cared for in the last few months of her life. Throughout her time of working at ECH (East Cheshire Hospice)  Margaret gave so much to so many, but she would be the first to say, that she received even more from the staff - her colleagues, friends and at the end, her carers.

As her family, we now want to show our huge appreciation to everyone who accompanied her on her life and death journey at ECH by undertaking something that probably none of us would have done had it not been for Margaret!

We shall be trekking through northern Spain to reach the UNESCO World heritage site of Santiago de Compostela, the final destination of the legendary, medieval Camino de Santiago (Way of Saint James). We are walking the last section of 115kms in 5 days. The trek is graded moderate to challenging. If you’d like to find out more about exactly, what we will be going through, go to the events page of the East Cheshire website and/or keep an eye on this page as we update you walk by walk!

Apart from Ori who is extremely fit, none of us can profess to being equipped for long distance walking (yet - watch this space!). But then a challenge is meant to be just that, challenging! We are also hoping that the more challenging we find the training and then the hike, the more sympathy we will generate and as a result, the more monies we will raise. Please don't disillusion us!!!

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to East Cheshire Hospice. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for ECH so they can use most of it doing what they do best - looking after those with life limiting illnesses.

Thank you in anticipation.
